Strange this is, I think. I got several Missed Calls alerts this morning, but my phone did not ring, nor does it show any of the missed calls. Some were from people I know. Some came from people I don't know. So I checked with those I know asking if they'd called. None of them had. .... any ideas?

Hi, It is extremely unlikely that it can be hacked.
What is more probable is they were old calls that happened while the watch was not connected to the phone.
They are probably cleared now but if it happens again it might be worth clearing the Fitbit App cache and force stopping it.

I learnt very early on that any networked device is open to hacking. Don't let anyone tell you that it is a secure platform. It is estimated that there are over 50 Billion of these smart watches out there and I'm sure hackers are on to them. Just look around on the internet to find out. We all know what happens to Mobile Phones which are much more secure than these watches.
Smartwatches connect using Bluetooth, hackers can easily install malware, or, more recently, ransomware, which keeps your sensitive data hostage incl your bank information.

Is your Fitbit used by someone else first? Maybe a friend or family member? Or did you give them your old phone?
Fitbit trackers form an unusually strong pairing with a phone (allows them to get notifications). If any of the above is the case, you'll want to have them explicitly remove your tracker from their bluetooth pairing.
I hope this helps.
