The side button on my sense sometimes will work fine but other times it gets stuck and makes it do a restart. One of the times it restarted it got stuck in a boot loop for about a minute. The button can also sometimes not work at all.

Hi @0maximusprime_0 - the haptic button only needs a brief touch, if you hold it too long it will restart the watch, which can take a while.
It is best to practice just turning on and off the display, by squeezing the watch between first finger and thumb till you get the knack. Using finger nails or objects is not recommended.

I press it normally but it sometimes doesn’t register me taking my finger off the button and then restarts

@0maximusprime_0 - thanks, just to be sure check the watch is clean.
Depending on what you are pressing the button for, there can sometimes be an OS issue.
First check when you swipe right then briefly press the button that it returns to the clock face.
If that causes a reboot try changing clock face from the Fitbit App, Gallery tile.

When I swipe right and press the button it returns to the clock face which is the default one for the watch because I had more problems before with other clock faces and the watch is clean and I can’t see anything that could be pressing the sensor

Thanks @0maximusprime_0 - as mentioned it can depend on what is assigned to the button or how long it is thinking it has been pressed.
If you are left handed and wear it on the right wrist try wearing it further up your wrist as certain wrist positions can accidentally action the button.

I have it on my left wrist and it doesn’t get accidentally pressed. I’ve also had problems with it crashing without pressing the button.

Thanks @0maximusprime_0 - occasional crashing can be due to problems with a particular clock face or app.
Of course there can be a watch fault or OS fault and the only way to check is via a factory reset (as a last ditch effort if it is not working all the time).
It is important to diagnose the issue correctly before taking action. In this case it doesn't seem to be a button issue.

I’ve factory reset it before when it wouldn’t work properly at all. The button when I press it it presses itself twice then holds it without me touching it then restarts itself.

@0maximusprime_0 - if it is still under warranty consider a replacement if the button isn't working properly and a factory reset doesn't help.
Many actions (not all) can still be done without the button, eg. Swipe watch face right. So it can still be usable.

It’s not under warranty because I think it’s 2 years old but I will see if there are any updates for it that might fix it.

@0maximusprime_0 - it's not a known issue so an update, if one was available won't help. Based on what you provided it woul seem to be a hardware issue. 44.128.6.17 is the last and if you have no prompt in the Fitbit App you should be on that one

@0maximusprime_0 - probably best to switch to workaround mode.
To wake display, double tap
To blank display, cover with the palm of your hand
To go back, swipe watch face to the right
Etc.
