I am a longtime fitbit user. After a Charge 5 failed just over a year ago, I bought a Sense, which was activated in February, 2023. I never used my watch while swimming, though I had understood from Fitbit advertising that it was ok to swim with it on. I heated our pool about 10 days ago when the weather in California warmed up enough to swim. The Sense failed after a couple of times in the pool. Mostly just treading water and pool aerobics. I would never have gone in the pool with it if weren't for Fitbit's saying it was ok to do so. Support says it is off warranty by several weeks, and offered a small percentage discount if I buy another fitbit. I think this is completely unfair and that Fitbit should be replacing devices that fail due to water damage, given its misleading advertising. I don't think a restrictive warranty should be enforced when the failure was from ordinary use within the scope of the company's sales promises.

@DanGleadle I have a Sense, got it when my Ionic failed (chip in display allowed water into the device), return Ionic under refund program got another Sense and a Charge 5 (will switch to one of those when my first Sense fails). Most devices are water resistant, not water proof, and over time the seals fail, look at the caulking on your windows, so even though they claim one thing never believe it. So I learned after my Ionic never trust a water policy. Also there are so many threads on the display popping off or falling off, even on Sense 2. So buyer be ware.
