Sense stuck on message "Data not cleared, Sync & Tried again"

Sense would not respond. Could not restart with holding button. Just flashed Fitbit logo. I got a red x stating DATA NOT CLEARED SYNC AND TRY AGAIN. I had to forget device in Bluetooth, then reinstall as of new device. It worked and all settings were saved.  I thought she was a goner and my time has come.  I’ve had the watch since 11/20, virtually no issues and still on original charging cable.  I always update the app and watch when required.

Hi there, @Clove6060. Thanks for stopping in the Fitbit Community Forums and trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Sense before reaching out.

Please note the message "Data not cleared, Sync & Try again" usually appears when you perform a factory reset without first unpairing your watch from your phone's Bluetooth settings.

With that being said, please confirm if you've followed the steps below to solve this issue:

  • Unpair your Sense from your phone's Bluetooth and Fitbit app.
  • Unpair other Bluetooth devices that you may also have paired to your phone's Bluetooth settings.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use. This can help to prevent connectivity issues or Bluetooth interference.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth on your phone.
  • Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app.
  • Set up your Sense.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Sense.
  • Once your Sense is paired and syncing, please proceed to set up your other Bluetooth devices to your phone again.

With the steps above, what I want you to do is to pair your Sense first to your phone's Bluetooth settings before any other Bluetooth device is connected to your phone.
