Sense stuck on message "Data not cleared, Sync & Tried again"

I have been given my partners old fitbit Sense that she has not used in some time.

I did a Factory reset and now I have a Red Cross on screen with the message "Data not Cleared Sync & Try Again"

The advice from this thread: Link suggests to unpair the Sense from the phone which is impossible to do as we do not have the phone it was originally paired too. So based on this, I am lost on what I can do

Any suggestions?

I would be interested as well.

I have gotten this message multiple times while trying to reset the boot looping fitbit sense. I have followed all the instructions on unpairing/turning the Bluetooth off ( since I have the phone that it is paired to) but the red cross was still there.  The reset seemed to have failed, and I could see the fitbiit boot up logo and the clock face at the same time overlaid on top of each other for a while.  That self resolved after a few minutes, and now the fitbit seems to be working
