Sense stuck on message "To start download the Fitbit app"

My fitbit sense is stuck on the download screen. I have tried to factory reset, but it just wont move off that screen. The app on my phone is searching for my fitbit but not finding it (probably because my fitbit is asking me to download the app). I have tried running the battery down, but to no avail. It was working perfectly, then I gave it to my son and he tried to set it up and I have no idea what happened, but it now wont move from the fit bit download app screen. Pressing the button makes no difference. I have also logged into fitbit on my computer to see if I can sync it, but nothing works. Greatful for any assistance. thanks

Hi there, @Bel_inda. Thanks for stopping by in the Fitbit Community Forums and trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Sense before reaching out.

As per the message on the Fitbit device's screen, it seems that your Sense is asking you to pair it properly. With that being said, I'd suggest doing the following:

  • Check if by any chance your phone's Bluetooth shows the Sense as a connected device. If so, please unpair/remove it.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off the Bluetooth.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth.
  • Setup your Sense again.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Sense.
