Welcome to the Fitbit community, @melbull!

Please check if there's an update available for your Fitbit app by visiting either the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store depending on the platform you're running the Fitbit app on.

Hi there, @melbull. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Sense. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you with this.

As per the message on the Fitbit device's screen, it seems that your Sense is asking you to pair it properly, have you unpaired it by any chance? With that being said, I'd suggest doing the following:

  • Check if by any chance your phone's Bluetooth shows the Sense as a connected device. If so, please unpair/remove it.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off the Bluetooth.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth.
  • Setup your Sense again.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Sense.

If you can't get started with your Sense, usually a missing requirement is the cause. Carefully review the requirements provided in the help article Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?

I've moved your post to the Sense board for organization purposes.

@Talahthas Thank you so much for your help!

I have the same problem and tried so many steps, but nothing helped. It happened suddenly one day when the device started to update firmware automatically. My sense is only 2 years and a half old. Fitbit support doesn't want to replace the device. I need my fitbit sense. Please help me! Thanks!
