Sense tracking heart rate when sitting on a piano

So I know this has been asked before, and that the answer is to put the Sense facedown on the screen when not wearing it to prevent it from getting some kind of false heart rate data...but I am a professional musician.  I play for hours at a time in rehearsal, and I put my fitbit down on the piano before playing so that I don't get cheater steps.  I rely on the clock face, a metronome app, and the ability to see text messages flash across the screen during rehearsals so I can leave my phone in DND mode, so putting it facedown doesn't really work for me - not to mention that I can't have the green lights flashing constantly in a dark theater until it realizes it's not being worn.

Is there *any* solution to this?  I've had a fitbit of various flavors (I keep getting sucked into upgrading for more features) for five entire years, and now in addition to having to take it off because there's no way to pause step counting while playing, I apparently can't leave it off because it tracks false heart rates and gives me too many activity minutes.  Would the fitbit team ever consider putting "playing an instrument" or some other type of not-exercise in there, so I could just wear the thing and not earn 20k fake steps in a rehearsal, or as today, 90+ active zone minutes when I was sitting on a bench?

When I'm not wearing it, while playing piano.  Like, it's tracking a heart rate while not being worn.

Don't know what to say, other than when the phone is in DND Mode, the tracker should not be getting any notifications.
