Sense tracks my sleep even when I'm not wearing it

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have recently swapped the band on my Sense for one of the nylon hook and loop ones.  When I take the watch off and place it screen down (the only way I've been able to stop this before) it still thinks I have it on and constantly tries to record my heart rate.  After a while it then logs sleep time.  The only way i can stop this is by unclipping the band.

Is there any way to stop this happening?

Hi there, @paulmh5. Thanks for stopping by in the Community Forums and sharing the details about the inconvenience with your Sense.

Sometime the Fitbit device can't detect you have taken it off, and it sees what it thinks is your pulse. Note that if you remove your watch but it keeps moving, for example if you put it in a pocket, backpack, purse, or even on a nigh stand table, the Fitbit device may display an erroneous heart rate reading due to the vibrations.

For more information, see How do I track heart rate with my Fitbit device?

I'd suggest turning off your Sense to avoid this from happening. For more information, see How do I turn off my Fitbit device?

Hope that helps.

Hi

When I take the watch off it is placed, face down, on a desk so is not moving.  It seems to 'see' the watch strap and somehow continue to measure a heart rate.

Thanks

Paul

@paulmh5 Thanks for those details.

Is your Fitbit device close to a fan?

To prevent this from keeping happening, I suggest turning off your Fitbit device, to do so, please follow the steps I've shared here

See you around.

Hi

No it's just on my desk.  This has only started happening since I switched to the hook and loop strap.

Turning the watch on and off several times a day isn't practical as the battery gets badly drained when it boots up.
