Setting calorie deficit

Hello- I’m not very good at figuring these things out.

when entering calories in your daily goals, I guess you would say- how do you figure in the deficit needed to lose weight?

say I enter 2500 calories for my normal goal- but I only burn 2000 calories, how do I figure how many calories are needed to lose weight? Or do I enter the calories I’m allowing myself to eat for the day? I’m so confused.

I know the calorie amount changes under “add food” for the day- but that’s due to more calories burned throughput the day, correct?

I have read the Fitbit information but unfortunately it just won’t register in my brain. If someone can dumb it down for me, I would appreciate it greatly!😊

I am not sure I understand your question, but...

  • The daily goal is the total amount kcal you expect to burn during a day(in average) - resting + excercise = total
  • Sense tells you have many calories you have burned during the day
  • Lose weight is simple math (calories in - calories out = weight gain if in > out, or weight loss if in <  out)
  • If you set a weight goal, and log your calories in, Sense tells you how many calories you are supposed to consume to lose, or gain
