Is there a difference in what functions the watch does between these 2 procedures, does one load more cleanly than the other, or is the result the same?
Both seemingly load a fresh copy of the OS.
As it may change between firmware version or watches, for version 44.128.4.17

An interesting question. I see from the manual that Restart via holding the button re-boots the watch, whereas Shutdown turns it off and then turns it on again. Maybe when Shutdown is activated the watch program recycles about the point in its series of instructions which was operating when Shutdown was activated, whereas when the re-boot is activated the watch control sequence is re-activated from the beginning, which would presumably involve all the house-keeping issues that the program goes through before handing over control to the user. Any thoughts?
