On firmware 44.128.6.21 for a couple of weeks.
Android 15 Pixel 7 Pro
Sometimes, I can get a Sync by clearing all open apps.
Other times, I can get a Sync by clearing all apps and stopping the Fitbit app on the phone.
So far, 100% of the times I've tried it, the Sync issues are fixed by restarting the Sense. But they will happen again within a day or two.
Under the previous firmware, I almost never had to restart the Sense. Almost certainly less than 10 times in the 3 years I've had this device.
Fitbit/Google.... can you comprehend what a frustrating panic moment it is when you're feeling ill, you run an ECG, and then the app refuses to show it to you. At least now I know to restart my Sense and within couple of minutes I'll be viewing my ECG.
IMHO, whoever signed off on this last firmware deserves a management review.
I was hoping to use my $50 rebate towards a Pixel 3 Watch but now I'm having second thoughts.

Hi @6down3togo - the forced firmware update without user choice and the way it was done does raise flags already.
The need for restarts is often related to the Fitbit App versions and other factors and may not be directly related to the watch firmware. The current Unreliable step counting bug only exasperates the situation, and is explained in more detail in the first post.
Try turning off the phone's Bluetooth, unless you need to do a sync, and see if this is what is affecting the battery life. Constant syncing that is not working can exhaust the battery quicker.
To help manage your syncing you can use the SimpleCheckUp app to know what the watch thinks about the connection and when it was last synced.
