I’m sitting watching tv or working in the kitchen and it’s recording me as sleeping. I just got a sense yesterday

Check Settings on your watch, you may have accidentally set sleep mode and do not disturb etc.,
If you have very good health it might seem like you are asleep [not awake] though if you check the sleep it will be at most light sleep.

Try a shutdown and restart.
On the watch, Settings at the bottom, to shutdown
Wait a minute
Then hold the left button until it vibrates and the logo comes up, to start.
It may be newness, that'll wear off!! lol

@Lkrasinski it can happen when your heart rate drops because you're resting and not moving. You can try to change Sleep sensitivity setting to Sensitive under Settings on fitbit.com (setting gear cog in the top right corner). Unless it happens often, I would just let it be.
