The Fitbit Sense is very good, the app can be improved

The Sense provides a LOT of data. And that data is useful. Problem is... Fitbit has to figure out how to present that data on the phone in an understandable way. Or at least in a way that is easily accessible - things like SPO2 data and temp data is a few too many clicks away to be really useful.

Basically I think fitbit needs to reshuffle it's app a bit to allow users to get the info the watch reports...

@wookietim I hope you are doing fine.

Thank you for your feedback on how information is presented in the Fitbit app and really happy to hear that you are enjoying your new Fitbit Sense. You can share your idea on how to improve data presentation in our Feature Suggestions board. Search for the idea first to see if one already exists so you can add your vote. The more votes an idea gets the more likely the developers will try to implement it.

Let me know how it goes.

Hi@AlvaroFitbit. Do you know why is my post gone from the Sense forum? Thanks

Hi @wookietim I am glad you enjoy your watch. I am a little bit disappointed with mine.

"Really good"? is a bit exaggerated because the watch has some improvement points like step over-counting and display activation. It counts steps when I am in bed or at my desk working on the computer when I move my arm faster. I think it counts more +2000 steps a day.

The screen on the watch does not activate all the time when I turn my arm slow/fast or only in one axis. When I don't make a good (sometimes an exaggerated) arm rotation or lift my hand together with the rotation the watch won't activate the screen.

Neither when I tap it with my finger. Sometimes it works when I tap 2 times, but sometimes I must tap 7-9 times!

Only when you make the right gesture, it works. Like turning your arm and lift your hand closer to the face.

This is very annoying!

Cheers

Huh... Ive had neither of those problems. I am sure there are a few extra steps counted during the day but truth be told, I tend to get in around 12K steps per day so counting and extra couple hundred is not really that big of a prob for me. As for screen wakeup - nope, no prob here.

To be honest I don't have a specific thing I'd like to see on the mobile app other than maybe flattening the info a bit to make it more easily understandable. I don't particularly like how some of the newer data is hidden behind 2 or 3 clicks on it is all.

@Vic33 Some of what you're describing is just part of the design of step trackers. If you're "moving your arm faster" doing something, there's a likelihood that the device thinks you're walking. These things are not flawless and can over or under count based on a lot of variables.

Here's a good article from The Verge on them: https://www.theverge.com/2019/8/12/20798928/how-to-fitness-tracker-step-count-accuracy-smartwatch-nu...

Unless I am mistaken, there is an app out there on the sppstore than can kinda turn off step tracking on fitbits while you are driving, etc...

Hey @imjrode thanks for the article, it was interesting. I am a new Fitbit customer, and was expecting for the best product that does what I want when I want. But it seems like I have to get used to some bugs and some habits. I have 2 other smartwatches that I don't wear all the time, but will do a step+screen response test to understand better eveything.

Cheers
