After updating the firmware on my 3 year old Sense, the battery life indicator stopped working. It has said 100% since last night. Typically, I normally drop from between 10 and 20% overnight. Unless they've magically find a way to have eternal battery life, they did something wrong with the firmware update.
I've restarted the watch. I'd rather not do a factory reset unless absolutely necessary.

My Sense is not shut down. Why would that post be related to this issue?

Yes, that page is what was emailed to me to alert me to a required firmware update due to the battery overheating issue. The issue is that after I followed the instructions to update my firmware, the battery life indicator stopped functioning. It has not gone down from 100% since I went to bed last night. As I said in my initial post, it normally drops from between 10 and 20% overnight.

@splorp- thanks for reporting the problem. It is likely a bug in the firmware which is also likely to cause problems for people living in the EEA as they won't be able to reinstall 3rd party stuff after a factory reset.
Formerly they did a voluntary recall of the Ionic watch with overheating battery problems, offering a full refund.

@guy, I know, I had the Ionic (two of them). On the first one, the case expanded to the point where it was dangerous to wear because the battery was failing. They replaced it under warranty. The second one had a sudden battery failure (without swelling) and I got the recall credit.
I'm neither a neophyte nor unfamiliar with troubleshooting. When I perform actions required by the manufacturer and get results that are bad, I expect a solution from the company. I know you're not an employee, but please don't assume everyone who posts here doesn't know what they're doing.
Also, moderator MarreFitbit, you're incorrectly changed the subject on my post. The battery works. The indicator that shows how much battery life is left isn't working. That is not the same thing. I have no idea how much battery life is available as it's said 100% since last night at 11:00PM eastern time.
Note: Please don't question the watch face. I've been using this face for over 2 and a half years with no issues. I don't have the face set to always on. Overnight, I always set the turn off notifications and disable the screen wake autodisplay.

@Guy_Yes, I did put it on the charger. It went from 99% after the firmware upgrade to 100%, where it has stayed ever since. Yes, I checked the built in swipe page. It also shows the same 100% as the watch face.

Exact same issue on 44.128.6.21 for me.
In nearly 48 hours the battery has dropped just 2%
Problem being, how much charge REALLY is in the battery? If I charge now and it goes to 100% in 2 minutes then we have no way of knowing when the device might actually just die.

Update:
Overnight it dropped from 100% to 84%,which is closer to normal.
Still no explanation as to why this is happening.

Same problem here after updating to 44.128.6.21 - the battery indicator seems to be permanently stuck at 99% in my case. Has anyone managed to resolve this? Has support offered any explanations / resolutions?

Mine just corrected itself after 2-3 days, seems to be the same for others.
Maybe turn it off and on again? See if that helps at all.

I have the same issue and opened a ticket with Fitbit support. After exchanging several emails with support, this is what they offered:
Thanks for reaching out to the Fitbit Customer Care Team.
We'll be glad to continue the assistance and verify new options that apply for your case.
After speaking about your case with our specialists and taking into consideration the way how your Sense started to work after updating the Firmware, let us inform you:
We announced an immediate firmware update for a limited number of Sense devices due to a safety issue to improve the stability of their battery’s performance and reduce the risk of the battery overheating.
For the impacted devices, the software update reduces available battery capacity and impacts charging performance. These users are considered “Impacted users” with an “impacted device” and are eligible for appeasement.
Users with an Impacted Device may be eligible for an appeasement. You can submit a request to check your eligibility for an appeasement of $50 USD (converted to your local currency) by visiting our Registration Page.
You can read further guidelines about this program through our website: Sense and Versa 3 Battery Performance Program

Hello
Did anyone manage to get his $50 compensation? After registering and creating a Payoneer account as requested, I haven't heard from Google for several weeks.

Yes. And then I couldn't remove my bank info after I got the funds, so I canceled the Payoneer account.
