I moved away from Fitbit watches a couple of years ago but am quite taken by the look of the Sense.
How accurate is the Steps tracking - especially for running?
Ultimately, would you advise getting a Sense.
Thanks in advance.

Hi @grab68,
I'm not a runner, so I can't really attest to that. Other than that, the steps seem pretty accurate to me (I never really paid much attention to them).

I replaced my Ionic with the Sense and find it great for running. No issues with tracking compared to my older devices and other trackers I've used (Garmin and Huawei). If you're in the market for a new device I'd recommend the Sense for sure.

There is something there for saying what your stride length, I don't know if that affects step count or just distance.

I think with running it uses the GPS to determine distance. Steps would use the accelerometer surely?

Steps aren't very accurate for me. Every time I swing my arm it counts it as a step. Not to mention all the other bugs with the Sense. If you're smart you'll wait and see if Fitbit can make this into a full working smart watch before spending $300 on it. I'm really disappointed in mine. Half the time it doesn't even work. It won't sync sometimes. Won't change time zones. I've had to factory reset mine twice already in a month. Half the features don't work or don't work right. Google Assistant is added but really only a crippled version of it. Speaker on it is awful for calls. So low volume even on full volume. Plus forget responding to a text with speech. It works about 1% of the time. This is just my experience but read the forums and you'll see plenty people with plenty problems. Just yesterday I had to factory reset mine to get it to pair back to my Pixel 4 XL. This watch has been so frustrating. I'm just hoping Fitbit is working behind the scenes trying to fix some of the bugs. If not, this will be my last Fitbit. I miss my Active Watch 2 honestly.

I went from a Fitbit Blaze to a Garmin and am currently using an Huawei G2 (which I got free last year when I got an Huawei phone). The Huawei watch is ok, nothing special and sometimes it gets the run distances quite badly wrong - I did a ten mile run last Saturday and it tracked it as 10.24 miles. I did the exact same route the next day, 9.94m (I ran the extra 0.06m so it recorded it as 10.00m). The watch also looks a bit clunky. I like the look of the Fitbit and am intrigued by all the extra bells and whistles features. I quite miss having a Fitbit product too - aside from the Aria scales. I’m about 75% convinced to get a Sense, just trying to see if there are any obvious glitches that might make me think twice.

Get one and try it out. I wouldn't buy it again if I had the choice. You can always return it when you see how glitchy and buggy it is. It won't take you too long to figure it out.
