I am unable to re-set my Sense to factory settings as per the directions below:
My Sense won't let me go further than the start up screen, it wants a 4 digit code which I don't know or forgot. When I follow the instructions above, I still get the pass code screen. So I am stuck. Help!

I understand this situation in regards to your Sense 2 set up after the factory reset. I truly appreciate your efforts on the steps taken.
You need to follow the steps in this article to set it up, pretty much the factory reset has been completed and now you need to set it up normally to go and use the Sense.
