Fitbit Pay used to be great. I used it all the time.

It hasn't worked since the migration to Google Wallet.

I got it set up and it seems fine in the app but when I try to use my watch to pay, the picture of the card shows a spinning wheel and holding it up to the **ahem** device does nothing.

I found that you have to delete all the cards go to Google wallet on Android or web, remove all cards and start from scratch, had to do that twice, third time stuck. YMMV

Fitbit Ionic 72.1.15 (recalled), Fitbit Sense 128.6.17 and Pixel Watch 2 BP1A.250305.019.W3, March 2025.

And your forum software won't let me use the acronym for "point of sale".

That seems to have done it, but I'll need to try it out at a store to be sure. Thanks!

I'm having this same issue, and it's so infuriating that I've been, for the first time since 2009, looking at alternatives to Fitbit. Google's takeover has seemingly ruined the ability to tap to pay, which was SO convenient - an actual game changer. Since the migration from Fitbit Pay, which I never had a single issue with, I have been completely unable to add one card, and the one that worked for years has completely stopped working, even after being removed and re-added several times. I get the same issue as the OP, and I've been caught out and unable to make purchases at least 4 times so far, because I'm so used to not carrying my wallet with me anymore! Further, it was a lot more convenient how Fitbit Pay was set up, where you only had to put in your passcode if and when you were going to actually use wallet. The way Google has it set up, where you have to punch it in at arbitrary times during the day is useless and inconvenient. I have loved Fitbit for so long, but if they don't get this stuff figured out in the next week, I'm sadly going to have to end my time as a customer and go with a different brand, that actually works.
