Was there an announcement of the ECG app going live in US?

I've been waiting for it, but read a topic here of someone having a problem with it. 

I found it and installed it and it works (I guess), but I was expecting an announcement of some sort.  Did I miss it?

Yeah, I too was expecting an announcement. First I heard was some posters got it working!

Go to the top of the Sense Biard and read the first pinned post. October 7 was the final announcement that everyone should be able to add the ecg app.

Their probably was an announcement on blog.fitbit.com.

But, most users, I would imagine,  don't check the community site and the blogs every day to look for an announcement of a major feature that was one of the reasons they bought the product.

I would have expected an email or notification in the app.
