I have started receiving this message on my Fitbit the last few days. It appears randomly all through the day.

At the same time I have to constantly redo the pairing routine by forgetting both Sense and Sense Controlls in Bluetooth settings as I'm also constantly losing my pairing between my iPhone and Sense.

Syncing of the sleep data is in intermittent while steps are update more regularly.

In desperation I've uninstalled the app and restarted the sense and reinstalled and re-paired everything, and the problem continues.

Does anybody have a solution or similar problem?

Hi @Being-patient  - there is a limit to number of apps you can install on the watch, around 30, so delete some unused ones first.

Now you have the new V4 Fitbit App there are numerous issues with it, syncing is one of them.

Thank you for your suggestions. I actually have only a handful of apps and have not installed any new ones since I started using the watch hence my confusion about this message.

I have Fitbit version 4.06.

So do I wait for another software upgrade to fix these bugs?

@Being-patient - probably a future update may improve things. In the meantime follow this process, it may help temporarily.

Logout of the Fitbit App and swipe off the active window, remove both Bluetooth entries again and restart the phone.

Make sure there are no other devices running the Fitbit App switched on or watches on.

Restart the watch by holding the button for 10 seconds till it vibrates and the logo appears and wait for it to start.

Login and run "Set up a Device" and replace to restablish things and sync fully.

I followed your steps and this included disconnecting Alexa as a voice assistant.

I think the problem started when I selected Alexa as my voice assistant a few days ago.

It looks like the latest Fitbit app doesn't like us selecting Alexa as the voice assistant.

It's working perfectly now and syncing every time.

@Being-patient- thanks for the feedback, and observation. The new V4 Fitbit App has so many issues, Alexa may have a bearing. If the syncing issues and install message don't return please update this post in a week.

Since deselecting Alexa yesterday, I've not had the message about being 'unable to update / install' return.

I have a new problem now. Sense Controls stopped appearing in my list of Bluetooth devices. I now get a message 'couldn't enable when I try to set up the on-wrist calls.

I have reset my phone and watch and still get this message.

I still have ongoing experience of my watch losing its Bluetooth pairing.

@Being-patient - the syncing issue is just one one the problems that comes with using the new V4 Fitbit App.

You may be able to resolve it temporarily by toggling Bluetooth off/on it restarting the watch (or both) and even restarting the phone, the further problem is you may not get all your notifications.

For Sense controls on wrist calls will need to be setup again.

How do I take on-wrist phone calls with my Fitbit smartwatch?
