Hi, I am wondering, what are the chances of my Fitbit sense being water damaged if I submerge it in water, I am asking this because I have never tried swimming with it because I never got the chance to, but now that I can I am a little scared to try it, because after looking at the Fitbit sense community page, it saw that quite a number of people had experienced water damage, and Fitbit refusing to replace refund or fix the Watch.
So that leads me to my question, what are the chances that water will destroy my Fitbit sense, and if it water does destroy my Fitbit sense, is there a way to fix it or ask fitbit to do something about it (replace, refund, fix, etc.)

I think if you delve deeper into the posts of the threads you’ve read there is certainly enough people experiencing issues with the watch seal to validate your concerns. Water can and has gotten into the watch. If you are under warranty, you can get a replacement which may be a refurbished watch. If you’re outside the warranty period, Fitbit may offer a discount on a new sense. Kudos to you for looking into this before hand. Many have not done so and post complaints after the fact. Fortunately, the complaints help people like yourself. Personally, I do not shower, swim, or sauna with my watch on.

Hi @ShadowNinja - good question, as you have seen in the forums the seals aren't reliable but this may not be the case for all watches.
If you have a new watch and it fails with water damage you can get a refund.
The problem is the seals also fail over time, often if exposed to hot water, so
After that it's normal warranty, 1 to 2 years depending on country law,.
If you return it to a shop or Amazon you may get given a new one (they are not normally repairable), if you return it to Fitbit directly you will most likely get a refurbished one and the process can be drawn out at times so expect to be without it a while.

So by the seals fail over time I typically keep a watch for 5-6 years so by over time how long typically is the seals effective?
I personally don’t swim with my new Fitbit sense anymore but I am just curious.

@ShadowNinja - at a guess over 5 years it is indeterminate, based on how good the original seal was and how aggressively the watch is exposed to environmental issues.

Don't risk it. My 18 month old Fitbit sense died in less than 5 minutes in a swimming pool. The watch will not switch back on and it will not charge at all.

wow, thanks for the sharing.
Now I highly suspect that mine had the same situation although i didn't ware it to swimming, i wore it and got it wet when i was watering my garden and in the shower.
I did that just simply because they proclaimed it as water-proved, ended up now it turned into a brick lying in my drawer.
