What is your opinion about the Sense?

Hi,

This is a very upfront question but I feel it's necessary.

I was considering buying a fitbit sense, and get into the fitbit universe (upgrading from my old tomtom runner 2) and getting a whole lot more bang per buck.

But considering a the reviews and topics in this forum regarding the laughable HR accuracy, robot-like scripted answers from moderators which are little to no help (not their fault, just complying with their "orders" I guess), I must say that all the confidence and hopes I had for getting a Sense are pretty much burnt to a crisp. The price is very steep for every single complaint I read about here or reviews elsewhere.

Can someone give me their opinion?  What's the scenario?

Is it a wait a little longer?

Is it a no-go?

Is it a wait for a Sense 2?

Thank you for your attention!

Regards

-MG

The Sense is terrible. Do not waste your money. It is inaccurate. I am on my 6th charger wire.  Heart rate measurements are too low. Says I am awake when I am asleep.

I've had the Sense for about two years. I've enjoyed it, and accuracy has been decent enough compared to a chest strap HR monitor worn at the same time.

The firmware updates and customer support are another matter. During the two years I've had a fitbit Sense, there have been two updates. My watch died both times after the update. The first time it was a warranty replacement, the next time I had the option to get 35% off a replacement.

Absolute abysmal customer service. I'd avoid fitbit for that reason alone. I'm trying g to get other users to report similiar issues to the Better Business Bureau just to see if we can get them to improve warranty service for issues their updates cause.

I bought a fitbit sense November 21, 2021.  I have had others prior to that.   I have premium service.  About 6 weeks ago the Health Metrics mostly stopped working.  There is no longer any Breathing rate, no longer any Heart rate variability, no readiness score.   I have contacted the company numerous times on the twitter site, and all I get is the run-around.  They keep saying they are working on the problem — but this problem has been going on for weeks.  It is a good watch and it is simply to use for the most part but this has now gotten to be "old."   I am considering going to a different tracker from a different company.

I basically just use it as a watch at this point😆. Always had problems
despite all the supposed updates.

My sense stopped taking a charge and therefore died completely after 15
months. When it worked, it was satisfactory. Nothing great, but OK. But, it
cost too much to only last a year and a half. I went with another brand and
am pretty happy.

Mine I bought in November of 2021 so mine isn’t even 2 years old. It’s a sense snd it should last longer than that I am investigating other options before I decided whether to replace mine or not. I agree with you they should last longer

I had used other brand before I got my fitbit sense and I had the other for six months and it stopped working and would not take the charge. I don't wear my in the shower I take it off I take a shower and love my fitbit sense more than the other heard band.

I am now having all kinds of problems with my sense. Metrics doesn’t hardly work anymore. No help from Fitbit. I am going to file a better business complaint although it probably won’t do any good. Mine is not even 2 years old.

For me it was just a constant frustrating reminder of how much money I wasted on something that never ever performed as advertised.

The daily ongoing stress of feeling dupped and taken advantage of when they would never offer a refund weeks into my purchase and rarely ever fully performing as advertised is not healthy. Stress bad.  Kinda defeats the whole purpose.

To tell u the truth i had the first fitbit versa and loved it. I went to the sense and nothing but problems, same with my husband, when the charge 5 came out i was so excited to buy it for his birthday and its useless, doesnt record his sleep. I have asked and asked and did everything they told me and still doesnt work the way its suppose to.

i was paying for the subscription and my husband too but i cancelled because why pay for something that doesnt do its job.

Mine worked less rhe. 2 years snd now a lot of the functions have stopped working. I pay for premium. I have contacted them at least 10 times snd get the runaround. I went beck to my garmin Fenix 5 plus. It works. I have heard that Google who owns Fitbit is slowly dismantling it so they can sell their more expensive pixel watch. I wouldn’t recommend buying anything by Fitbit anymore

For many of us they are just useless junk. Best to cut your losses and throw them away.

Consider your self lucky if you got 2 years out of it. I got nothing. 5 replacements and all were the same. They told time consistently. Everything else, sporadically, occasionally, inaccurately, randomly and a whole lotta of other lys that I won't bother to try to remember. Waste of time money and stress.

There is definitely something not right going on. Ever since Google bought them the problems have been there. I will not buy or use my sense again.

The sense and other fitbit smart trackers are now owned by Google.   My sense worked fine until recently and now many of the features are not working at all.  Research shows that Google is slowly dismantling many of the features in the hopes that people will switch to their Pixel Pro 7 which is a lot more money.    I have emailed fitbit on numerous occasions and I get the same BS from all of them.   I went back to my old tracker, which is from a different manufacturer and am very satisfied with it.   I have turned off the sense and will not use it again
