Update 10/7/2020: The ECG app should be available now in the countries where it is currently available.
The Fitbit ECG (electrocardiogram) app on Fitbit Sense has received clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), as well as Conformité Européenne (CE) marking in the European Union. The ECG app will be available in October 2020 to customers in the US, certain European countries, and Hong Kong. Availability outside the U.S. is pending applicable regulatory clearances.
Check out this Fitbit blog post for more details on how on-wrist ECG technology can offer early identification for irregularities like atrial fibrillation. For more answers to frequently asked questions about what the ECG app does and how it works, see fitbit.com/ecg.

Asking Fitbit support was useless - all they did was say was Canada wasn't listed on this page:
https://www.fitbit.com/global/us/technology/ecg
Which I already knew, and was the reason for contacting Fitbit. It sure would be nice if someone from FitBit actually monitored this request for Canada & replied, instead of just leaving it as a dumping ground for more & more people to vent their concerns.
Without the ECG app, why would anyone fork out the extra $$ for the Sense, when they could just get the Versa 3 for much cheaper.
Fitbit is really shooting themselves in the foot upfront on this one.

Where do you see "pending" please? I don't even see Canada listed at all :

They have approval from the FDA, I expect they developed the app before the launch in September, I don’t understand why it hasn’t been released yet. I foolishly assumed they’d do so immediately, that’s why I just bought it. If it’s not out soon I think I’ll return it. It’s useless to me without the ECG app.

I am waiting, somewhat impatiently, as the FDA approval is in place. When I inquired of customer support, I was told it would be October (it IS October) or winter?! FitBit is not doing a good job keeping users informed. How many people need to return this product before this feature is activated or at least the status of the app release is better communicated?

@FitbitCommunity @Fitbit Would it be possible for Fitbit HQ to provide a status update on the ECG app rollout?
For instance, I am in Canada and there is confusion about availability since Canada was on one clearance list, and not another.

I get the app will be available somewhere in October. But will it be available to all users (even people who aren't 22) ?
For now, the Sense has been really disappointing for me and I might return it.

Just got a message/pop u on my Fitbit app this morning saying that ECG would be available mid Oct. Not sure if this is a general message or specifically for the Netherlands.
The manual is avaialble: https://help.fitbit.com/manuals/manual_ecg_en_US.pdf

@Mike_Croy I got it too in the UK. I thought it said "starting" in mid October. These things usually rollout over a period of time.

Hello, My new Fitbit Sense arrived yesterday. I am in Canada. Are there any updates as to when the ECG App will be available here? Thanks

I can’t see it being available for under 22s as they commonly have an irregular variation of a normal (sinus rhythm) ECG which may be mistaken for AF by the device. These algorithms (even on medical grade ECG monitors) only look at irregularity of the spikes, they can’t assess the bumps as a medical professional would by looking at the whole thing

I doubt Fitbit will say anything more until they announce its release.
Regarding countries not on their current list, it's probably those countries' federal authorities responsible for approving it that has not given the OK yet.
And as someone else mentioned it'll probably never be available to those under 22.

I'm about ready to return my Fitbit Sense until the ECG is available. I've seen too many times that when it is available it hasn't been tested properly. This time I thought maybe they would be different!

Illegal ? Unethical ? why ?? they said October and they announced the supported countries.
Τhey are Super Crystal Clear ...
Always it's up to you to decide if you buy the product.
October still has 25 days ahead .

I wouldn't call "The ECG app will be available in October 2020" as being "Super Crystal Clear" rather it's fairly vague. An actual date in October would be clear and would allow us to better plan our purchase.

So many upset people. When I bought the Sense it was very clear to me that portions of the advertised uses such as ECG and phone calls and well as Google assistant were all not available right away. They were not going to be ready until late October. As a matter of fact the Sense itself wasn't supposed to ship until then. Late October. Just be patient. It will come. Let's worry about more pressing matters. REGISTER AND VOTE!
