Why doesn’t sense have ECG approval but Apple does? (Australia)

I made the mistake of choosing the Sense instead of going with the Apple Watch it seems. The Apple Watch has now had their ecg app up and running but there’s no news what so ever from Fitbit about when we’ll get ours, even though it was advertised to be the front running health based watch. What exactly is Fitbit waiting for? I know late last year there was approval, so what are we waiting on now? Does this mean Apple have a completely different (and possibly better) monitor which is how they have theirs approved and released?

That is simple, each country has to individually certify the different manufacturers hardware/firmware. Apparently Apple has been certified by the Austrailian government and Fitbit hasn't. 

You may want to ask your government as to the status of certification.
