Why so far from 99 to 100% of charge?

When charging my Sense, it takes forever to get that last 1% when charging. To get up to 99% is pretty quick, but getting that last 1% takes forever,. Why?

I don't know why, but trying over getting the last bit of charge just wears out the battery.  I have read (and was convinced), lithium ion batteries in most modern rechargeable electronics last longest when kept between 20% and 80% charged.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
