can't connect sense and versa 2 to account

I have been using my blaze when my versa2 is charging.  The blaze is old and I have problems charging it so I bought a sense today at Costco. I wanted to use my versa2 as a backup device while charging my sense. It turns out that this is impossible.  What a ripoff! Now I have to undo all the stuff I did to set up the sense and return it to Costco.  I tried to re-connect my blaze, and it is having problems re-connecting.  Why in the world did Fitbit create a new watch, call it something new, and then have it connect as the older device, the Blaze?

I wouldn't say the Sense connects as a Blaze.

You cannot have 2 of the newer devices connected  to the same account.

You could have the Blaze  and the Sense, or the Blaze and the Versa 2, but not Sense and Versa 2.

From Can I use more than one Fitbit device with the same account?

Not necessarily trying to defend Fitbit on this, just trying to explain the situation.

Thanks.  I called fitbit support and that's what they told me.  They would sell more fitbits if they didn't do it that way.  I will continue to stuff gold foil into the charging ports of my Blaze.  Fitbit would have sold another expensive tracker, but I returned it to Costco.  They now have sold one less device and created a very unhappy customer.

I appreciate your taking the time to answer. I wish there was some way to get my complaint to Fitbit management.

Have to agree. Don't know their reasoning for it, but I would have got a Sense or Versa 3 and used my Versa 1 for the backup long ago if this was an option. As it stands, no reason really to spend money with a working Versa1. And the Blaze can stay the backup if I can't wait for a charge and want to walk or something.

I would especially like an older model for winter outdoor stuff. Baby the newer model so to speak.

I see people speak like it is some conscious decision by Fitbit not to allow these trackers together.   I expect it's not that they don't want that, but that there is some technical reason preventing it.  One might argue Fitbit should put more effort into allowing this, but I really doubt that Fitbit made a conscious decision they don't want you to be able to have as many as want all connected.

@JohnnyRow Maybe I gave fitbit too much credit? I figured maybe it's easier for their troubleshooting or something this way. Surely someone on the planet could figure out a way to make it work if they really wanted it? Then again, my weekly report is useless and I usually don't even look at it. My week doesn't end on Sunday. They can't, or don't want to fix that either. You can select Sunday or Monday to start your week in your profile, but your weekly report starts Monday. No option there.
