fitbit sense fails to down load card to wallet

I have previously been able to follow the steps to add a master card to my wallet and able to tap the watch for payment.

Today I tried adding a new debit master card and it fails at the last step, and shows an error unable to connect to your bank or card network, please try again later or contact customer support. I spoke to my bank and there is nothing wrong at their end.  I deleted the other card off to see if that was the problem, and now I can't load either card.

I have uninstalled the app and reloaded it twice and I have restarted the watch and the phone, the phone is s21 running android 13.  After all this, I end in the same place with the same message.

Any suggestion?

I have the same problem.
Your Santander credit card has expired.
I removed it from my Fitbit Pay wallet and tried to add a new one with the same number. Several failed attempts "we can't connect to the bank or card", but another ended with a "data mismatch" message. Despite this, it turned out that the card was added, it only required activation via SMS from the bank.
Activation was successful and I saw the card on the watch.
After 2 hours I saw in my wallet that the card is not active and needs to be activated. But reactivation was not possible because "Activation timed out". I also couldn't remove this inactive card from my wallet.
Samsung A52s 5G phone just updated to Android 13 and managed to remove the card.
But I still can't add it - like at the beginning.
