does anybody know if sleep clinics or doctors take fitbit data seriously or do they think it is just a gimmic?

I have had 3 sleep studies and use a CPAP machine for my apnea. I don't think it's a terrible thing to show your doctor printouts from your fitbit but you should realize that the data is very limited. When I had my sleep studies, electrodes were placed on varous points on my body and on my head. With the fitbit, it only measures the movement of my wrist. It cannot tell anything about my sleep cycles, and if I were to lie still all night the fitbit would show that I am asleep whether I am or not.

I have that exact same issue. The same thing would happen if I wake up and then just close my eyes and go back to sleep. I look at the sleep data from fitbit but I don't have a lot of faith in it since it is only measuring writ movement. If you are still, it "thinks" you are sleeping.

Hi, I wear a CPAP. DId you ever try the nasal pillows instead of the huge and awful mask. This is the only way I can use a CPAP.
