I'd like to hear your experience in regards to sleep tracking. I try to wear my Versa every night, following my sleep schedule. I don't use sensitive sleep settings on my watch since sometimes I move a lot at night and I don't like to see extra restless or awake time in the morning.
Some other night I remove my watch from my wrist before going to bed just to give a rest to my arms. I'd like to hear about your experience on how you're tracking your sleep. Do you track it every single night or do you prefer to track sleep on specific days of the week?
I've been improving my sleep habits since I'm aware of different things that can help me to have a better sleep score. 😊

I am so surprised by some of the comments here that intimate sleep has nothing to do with health. This is not my experience. It is a proven fact that light and deep sleep are the stages that the body and mind utilize to exact healing. This is my experience. I posted my sleep problems about a year ago afterwards I tried a myriad of solutions. None of them worked until I realized that I can't fix and inside problem an outside solution. My inside problem was that my nervous system was whacked. I wasn't broken and I didn't need to be fixed. Please be informed that it took me some time to come to this conclusion because I was out of touch with my nervous system consequently, I couldn't identify the source of my sleeping problem. My thinking is how can my body AND MIND be fatigued, tired and ready for sleep but when I lie my head down, I unintentionally fight sleep. I found my answer in that I started yoga, pranayama and meditation over 35 years ago, but I had stopped. I found that my body and mind had stored years of stress which evolved into trauma. The mindfulness practices have improved my deep sleep tremendously and I still have a way to go but this I promise you by 9 pm every night regardless of where I am or what I'm doing the intelligence of my body lets me know "it's time for sleep - you need to lie down" I know this is not for everyone and trust me it's not a practical lifestyle for everyone. Much of this became self-love and self-care which I desperately needed. Just understand that I had no choice. It was either mindfulness or no sleep. I couldn't handle not sleeping.

Nate,
I am glad you posted your experiences. It takes time to figure all this out. I too started to develop a greater awareness of my inner life and decided on an 8:30 PM bedtime. That worked well for a month, then health problems set in. Getting back into a routine was hard.
I learned that an "activity intention" by 7 PM is important. From then on, stimulation of any sort, be it text messaging, watching videos or rehashing the day's events contributed to an active mind that was hard to turn off. If I resolved to read, it had to be entertaining, not informative. My inner critic likes to insert itself into all things, to create goals and criticisms.
My big surprise was discovering that even "good, happy" events caused my mind to go into overdrive, with planning! I think you've found what works for you and I'm close to finding what works for me. All those sleep hygiene tips are more beneficial than I ever believed.

I love to check my graph in the morning, I have vivid dreams and I like to know when I’m more in range of those dreams bc I know REM and light sleep (I think..) relate to dreaming,, which I do a LOT

My old HR wasn't working well due to a dying battery, so I just purchased Inspire 2 and am still not getting any sleep data.
Obviously I am a vampire and so not sleep at all. I don't seem to have a heart rate, nor do anything but log steps.
Since things went across to google, I get pretty much nothing but steps anymore, so it's more of an expensive pedometer now.
Pity, I do miss all the data I once got. I've tried everything like starting, restarting, holding my tongue to the left, then right. Nothing seems to work.
I'm giving up. I've been outfoxed by google by the looks.

I have a Google Watch and same thing...sleep is recording weird...it now has a 'restless' category and NO sleep score for the past week....it's bad enough that you cant break down the time frames for the past few months....change definitely doesn't mean progress in this app.

I only wear my fitbit at night with the purpose of traking my sleep patterns, especially my deep sleep, which seems to be my main problem (getting enough). I like looking at my weekly/monthly average to see how I'm doing. Lately, my fitbit has started to take a break one day each week and stopped working properly on those days. The last 2 Sundays recorded me waking up at 8am sharp and I was awake by 5 and not even wearing the watch. I've been thinking that maybe, since my premium membership expired, on purpose, is now refusing to track properly. Maybe??

I had another tracking device I lost. It had a very useful feature that enabled you to add a label to your night sleep. I personally used to add an emoji that showed my mood, and I would write if I was sharing the bed with someone or the dog, and what supplement/s I was taking. That allowed me with a simple tap, to see if there was a pattern linked to my good/bad nights. I wish fitbit had that feature.

just a thought........ i used to have a glass or two of wine before be..to wind down, to get sleepy. then i couldn't figure out my sleep patterns. so, alittle research found this from the cleveland clinic and other sources.
'If you have alcohol in your system when you hit the hay, you may not sleep very deeply, or for very long, on and off throughout the night. That’s because as alcohol starts to metabolize, the sedative effect wears off.
“This prevents you from getting the deep sleep and rapid eye movement (REM) sleep you need because the alcohol in your system keeps you in lighter stages of sleep,“ Dr says. “You’ll likely wake up easily and more often, especially in the later half of the night.”

How would you suggest that a night worker obtain "good" sleep if their activities are the opposite circadian rhythm of "day" people?
