Hi everyone! Starting today, you may notice a new sleep experience in your Fitbit app. If you don't have it right away, please be patient as it can take some time to reach all users.
Check out what’s new by going to the Fitbit Community blog.
What do you think? Let us know!

I don't like the new format. It seems to be missing some of the tracking data and doesn't provide the same level of detail.

Which model did you go for, and what's the battery life like?

Disappointing at best. Nope, don’t like it at all - should have run more beta testing from users. Please return to old system reporting; it gave me all the data I needed, was easy to edit when necessary, readable and quick.

It’s AWFUL. Whoever came up with this new update - honestly - they shouldn’t be working there. It’s terrible. Hard to read. Poor design (font on graph too tiny). The slide bar doesn’t flow well - doesn’t really work. It’s not really able to easily slide over REM, deep or light. Stats are hard to read. Very very disappointing. Plus suddenly, it’s not capturing data correctly. I have a sleep numbers bed to double check. What the heck were you thinking? Many of us rely on this feature. Your data is now unreliable.
Why did you do this? And how can you not see how bad the new graphs and data are? So many of us are complaining. Why don’t you listen to us? The previous graphs were perfect. What made you think this was a good idea?

Any thoughts on how to do this on an iPhone?

It's terrible, really difficult to differentiate between different sleep stages, colours merge together to much. It shows that I've been asleep for a set period of time but clearly also indicates I was awake so time isn't calculated correctly. I'd prefer better colour differentiation and the ability to see each type of sleep in more detail as previous version

I totally agree with you 100%. Sleep timeline is awful.

The new sleep recording is dreadful! Now it’s telling me I had three hours because it’s not counting the restless time! Even when it doesn’t pick up awake time it still does this. It never records the proper time and I have to edit it every day. I used to love this, now I hate it and am seriously looking for alternative watches.

I’m with you. The colored graph made sense. Not to be insensitive to colorblind people, but, what percentage of users are colorblind?
and it wasn’t like there weren’t labels for REM and deep and light.
Whatever… i’m switching to Google watch on account of it.

Thank you! Not only did I get the "Useful" sleep function back, but doing this also cleared out all of the old items in the "frequent" and "recent" food lists (for food tracking). It now actually shows what is recent. People have been asking Fitbit to allow us to delete items from the frequent and recent list since at least 2017.

FBUChicago (see page 67 of comments) provided this link: https://www.reddit.com/r/fitbit/comments/1707jgt/my_guide_on_how_to_undo_the_recent_update_android/
I followed it and it worked perfectly. Not only that, but doing this fixed two Fitbit bugs.
Bug 1: "Frequent" and "Recent" food lists had foods I ate years ago, but not my recent items. Now the items in both lists are actually the frequent and recent foods I have been eating.
Bug 2: I have a Fitbit watch and a Fitbit scale. The newest revision of the Fitbit app would not sync with both (so I was manually entering weight data). This older revision has no problem syncing to both devices at the same time.

Directions worked perfectly, but even though I disabled updates, it reverts to the new version when I open it again. Sigh.
