I hate it too

I agree to restore to previous format

I subscribed to the Premium version of Fitbit specifically to track my sleep and details.  Now the new format came out and I'm angry and frustrated with the app. For the first few days it had all the information there, just in a different format.  Then today, it changed AGAIN and now it doesn't show percentages, benchmark, sleep stages or any details!  What the heck?

I'm about ready to cancel the premium service that I'm paying for, sell the Fitbit and get a more reliable fitness watch to use.

Please give your users the option to go back to the original format.

I’m finding it really hard to read the sleep graph since the update. It need more of a block colour behind like before. I’m really not liking it.

The biggest reason I have for owning a Fitbit where the previous graphics of the sleeping schedule. The new one… well… I hate it. The old one was really easy to use, and I started recommending a Fitbit by showing my sleep schedule. The ‘new’ look looks way older and not in a positive retro way. It looks like a badly designed app now. Very, very sad. I used this feature daily…

please change it back…

I would love to know the answer to this too. I tried going into settings and unchecked the box that I think corresponded best with this notification debacle and I've still received hundreds of notifications, despite doing this. 😭👍

I hope you've figured this out by now, but just in case . . .. Go to any (I think) page of Fitbit community. In the upper right hand corner, you'll see "Store." Beneath that is your personal icon, just to the right of the question mark in the blacked row at the top of the page. Hit your icon, then hit settings, then get into notifications. I checked all the unchecked boxes in the first section, which blocked all sorts of notices, and I did NOT check boxes toward the bottom, which actually asked for notices!!!

I bought my Charge 5 a yr ago for heart rate while cycling. It's worked well for that and continues to do so. I liked the sleep data, esp the HRV, but always had trouble with it because: 1) I sleep in segments and the Charge 5 needs at least 3 hrs for full data and at least 1 hr for a nap, and 2) even when set to normal (not sensitive), the Charge 5 often reads me as awake when one of my 4 90-lb dogs stirs in my bed, even tho I don't wake up.

So, since the messed-up update to the sleep function, I'm not wearing the Charge 5 unless I'm cycling.

Due to suspected low glucose during 3+ hr rides, I wore a continuous glucose monitor for 3 wks, I learned how my body reacts to glucose infusions just before and after cycling, as well as during cycling--and that was enough. I never attached the second CGM sensor that my doctor had given me. And the same is true with the Charge 5 for sleep--and maybe even for hard, long cycling. I've gotten what I need from it and am sticking with it from habit.

Peace.

This article is really a piece of work!  The gist of it is they have dumbed it down cuz they don’t want to confuse us with too much data!!!  It’s insulting and makes me absolutely hate the developers who did this and then wrote that idiotic piece.  If you have any influence, get them to reinstall the old view and when they actually have an improvement that has been tested and vetted by actual users, let me know.  I’ve worked on program rollouts and acceptance testing is a major part.  DO BETTER, FITBIT!!

Thanks for the detailed way to stop notifications. I'd tried before and it didn't work. Your way did. What a relief! 🙏

Are you listening, Fitbit?

bring back the previous iteration.

Aus here, and I completely agree with you. This new sleep view is annoying and i just want it all back the way out was.

it looks like a LARGE number of users do NOT like this update. the design is NOT what most want. I for one like to see the percentage of the time that I as in REM versus Light versus Deep etc. the net result is that most of us want the previous version back.

Thanks for the instructions. Hopefully it'll work 🤞

Funny how the article explaining these changes shows a side-by-side comparison of two UIs where one shows the top of the page and the other shows what you get if you scroll down into the auxiliary weeds. It's almost like the people who created the comparison already knew that they made the app look worse and they're trying to hide it. As if people don't know what the old version looked like.

It's almost like people who know a lot about good UIs are deliberately doing the opposite of what would be good, and then they're trying to play it off like they're building something up while deliberately destroy things. When something exists to show simple data, don't obfuscate the data and claim you're helping us dumb folks to understand it.

Oh, and colors are so old-fashioned, right? Google should stop using those bright primary colors everywhere. Nevermind that color alone lets people recognize the brand. Kill the colors, Google. If you're doing it to Fitbit, why not do it elsewhere? You said yourself they're bad UI. And what's with all the easy-to-see icons Google uses everywhere? You should be using tiny text, you said so yourself in the Fitbit redesign.

HATE IT!  This is not an upgrade but instead makes it virtually useless to me

Awful. Thankfully I recently purchased an Apple Watch. Used to love my Fitbit, been a loyal customer for years. Just cancelled premium. Breaking up is hard to do … it’s not me it’s you. Goodbye Fitbit.

Hi, I’ve had the new sleep experience for almost two weeks but I can’t access my deep sleep averages across a week or month or year (I can only see the percentage for the day). Also when I go to the 30 day average tab, it just shows me the deep sleep average for that day. Is there anything I can do, as I’ve therefore lost most of my deep sleep data points? With thanks.

I’ve just cancelled Premium and am also looking at Apple or Garmin. This change is not an improvement and, along with other changes plus having to reboot a couple of times per week, means my end user experience is worse than ever.
