Redesigned Sleep experience now in the Fitbit app

Hi everyone! Starting today, you may notice a new sleep experience in your Fitbit app. If you don't have it right away, please be patient as it can take some time to reach all users.

Well, part of this problem is that they are no longer Fit Bit. They are now
owned by Google. So, it is Google that does not care about their customers.

I completely agree! This is a downgrade we’re going back in time with this version of the app. I can’t read this information the way it’s displayed. Please fix this! Allow people to pick different versions of how they want it to look for themselves in the settings of the app.

Agree with the other comments. It is awful. Much more difficult to use and the other graphics were fine. This is a solution in search of a problem. Please go back. I guess someone must have put “changing sleep graphics” as an annual goal for their performance review. If so, the goal should have been initially rejected by their manager but, since it wasn’t, they should get a 0 rating.

I hate it.  Absolutely cannot stand it.  Why can't we choose which format we prefer?

I'm currently in the market for a new fitness device that does what Fitbit used to with the sleep app.

If anyone has any suggestions,  I'd love to hear them.

Hi @RebeccaFitbit Just letting you know this is an absolute mess of a change. The graph is a lot more messy. There's too much going on, and it's hard to read or look at.

The sleep timestamps, the vertical broken/dotted lines, the solid grey horizontal lines, the colors of the sleep stages, the old-fashioned greyed background.

Here's some ideas.

1. Remove the timestamps next to each cycle/stage. It clutters the screen and overloads the brain. The older app had a bar graph which was prettier.

2. Return to solid line gradients

3. Remove the solid grey lines from each cycle. They are messy and ugly.

4. Return to the old colors of each cycle. The colors, especially for awake are ugly

5. Add a background to the chart. Look at the classic one below. It had a midnight blue gradient.

6. Change from the grey background to white, and add a dark theme. The background color is a grey, something like Windows 98. Make it pure white. Grey is a depressing and dull color.

This is/was a lot prettier, and both easier to look at and read. You should have kept this design, and added you improvements, such as insights.

Great changes suggested...

I have made the move to a Garmin and their app is clearly superior to any version of the Fitbit App...sayonara Fitbit!

I am not a fan of the new sleep experience.  Is it possible to get the old experience back??  The new one does not allow me to see exactly when I was in deep sleep or REM sleep.  Now the display is just an approximation.

It is NOT easier and I cannot stand it.  It dosnt work well for me at all.  I get up, may be up for awhile and go back to sleep.  My second sleep or sometimes my first never registers.  So may times looks like Ive only gotten 3 hours sleep.  The previous logged everything and I could see it beautifully.  Cant stand this new version.  Not working for me AT ALL!  😔

I accidentally voted this up, but didn't mean to! Recently I don't think Fitbit has been logging my sleep correctly. It will say I was awake for hours when I have no memory of being awake during those times! Then I just heard about some changes to the "sleep experience" and I figure that's what the problem is. Can this be patched somehow? I got the Fitbit mostly to track my sleep, and if it's not giving me correct readings, I'll have to look for something else. Can you give me some answers or direction here? Thanks!

Another question: I just joined up and my profile describes me as Jogger, which I'm not. How can I change it?

You asked us two months ago what our thoughts were, thousands have said it’s terrible, can you at least just tell us if you plan to revert, if not we’ll all be jumping ship to a non-Google watch.  These days you’re not the only watch on the market there are loads, bad customer experience means people will find alternatives, not just stick around hoping for a change

Are you going to revert back to the old graphics?

I'm ready to order another device if not.

I really liked the previous version better - it seemed to have deeper info and provided an analysis of my actual sleep, as opposed to a generic outline of what the various measurements mean. Thanks.

Joining in.  I really really hate the new sleep display.  Put it back to what it was or give us the option of what display we want.   The sleep display is a main fitbit feature for me.
