It's disappointing, and unreliable. I'd finally crossed over to Fitbit having tried other trackers over a number of years, and I'm afraid I'll be returning to another make. The 'Premium' experience is not worth it. There's lots of information but little to actually use. What I really want is a reliable tracker for sleep. Tell me how long I slept, in total, and how good it was. That's it. No other tracker has been so unreliable about sleep recording. Also, for those of us who have to get up to go to the toilet at night - why does Fitbit only monitor the first session? Why not both? So according to Fitbit, my 'real- sleep is for 3.5hrs, and the rest is irrelevant, just a number. That distorts everything.

This morning, after a good night's sleep, where I didn't wake up at all, I was looking forward to reading the results....nothing. It hadn't registered any sleep at all. It's not the first time. Fitbit: don't give us new-fangled fancy but unreliable measurements and inconsistent data, just give us solid consistency, please.

Also, the active hours options don't seem to allow for anything to be recorded past 11pm. This doesn't accommodate those who might be shift workers or otherwise active into the early hours or beyond. Again, the inflexible data recording options skew any metrics, making conclusions flawed. Please don't assume people fit into set lifestyle options.

Reliable and useable data please, not fancy flimflammery.

It's happening with everything. Even my bank. My phone was hacked and they are blaming me and shut down my account sating I went against the terms of service. I said what did I do and they don't give me a reason. I think it's time to call the BBB on Fitbit and my bank. 😡 🤬 😔 😢

Mine too. It said I slept from 3am to 6am and I checked the time I wrote down and the time I got up and it was off by 4 hrs. I have the fitbit versa 2. I don't know what watch to get now if any at all. 😔 😡

Hate the change to sleep recording which was brought in earlier this year.  Today, all I have is ‘awake’, ‘restless’ and ‘sleep’ utter rubbish.  Why did you change something which was very good?

I’m a Premium user for many, many years and after this last update I think I am finally going to give up on Fitbit. I was primarily interested in the sleep tracking and heart rate data, and the ability to export that data. A few years ago I was able to do this at to give my doctor tangible data on how I was awakened from sound sleep by tachycardia. This expedited my referral to a cardiologist. The tracking data is now incomprehensible to me. I miss the benchmark and monthly average data, and I sleep quality data is useless. I am canceling my Premium subscription since in the new format it no longer provides useful usable data and I will be shopping for a more useful tracker. I am embarrassed that early this year I recommend this product to a dear friend only to have you shortly thereafter ruin the features I had been recommending. I honestly feel betrayed by these changes, and saddened that I am sure that my input will no doubt carry no weight.

How do I return the app to the previous version and turn off updates?!   At least that would allow me to use the remainder of my annual premium subscription while I shop for another tracker.

I’m a premium subscriber and the benchmark tab isn’t there. Why?!

It is a terrible redesign.

After using this new update for a while, I have come to realize how much has been removed from the effectiveness of the sleep tracking, which as an apnea sufferer, was a major reason for using Fitbit. You have removed easily accessible data and functionality for the sake of a NEW! IMPROVED! graphical display that I assumed was thought to be more attractive. You can keep that part, just add back all of the prior functionality that you removed.

I expect that that will not be happening. I presume that the vast majority of the 1600+ comments here are all saying similar. I too am once again looking for an alternative device after having 3 Fitbits over many years.

This is a disappointing change for the sake of change. Form over function.

Totally agree! My sleep specialist liked the previous version and concurs the change is a downgrade in functionality.

sleep changes are terrible. please go back to previous format. Sleep cycles used to be right there every morning. Now I have to search for them but cannot find. Which idiot thought these changes would be helpful? Please return to old format.

Hello everybody looking for updates to the much dissed sleep tracking.

To be fair, it seems that the sleep data has been introduced again after being missed.

On top of the thousands of complaint since the new design was introduced last fall, then on June 29th 2024 the detailed view of sleep phases disappeared.
I was lingering about a month, before I made a few posting here crying the problem, since its important for a great number of people that the sleep tracking is actually working properly. This change on 29th June simplified the view to awake, Restless and Asleep. Totally useless for most.

But, Lo and behold, the missed and for many vital ”sleep stages” data came back on August 3rd 2024! Even with the benchmarking and ”30 day average” Thank you very much whoever at fitbit took care of this. It looks like it came with a update labelled 4.22 (Not sure about this though)

Additional info: For those who prefers the old design; Its possible to view your data in the old design if you go to the new ”you” tab on the front, from there go to community feed, tab the ½ moon (Sleep icon) several times and you will eventually get to the old design with data in that nice familiar design.

(I did try the Apple watch SE last month but had to send it back, the 18 hours of batt time is simply not going to cover a day and a night at all, it died on me several times within 3 weeks of trying it, so it went back to Apple)

In below shot, its clear to see the change that happend in Week 31, the detailed data upon tapping is there in all its glory.

Cheers
Mike

The new sleep design was rolled out in stages. I just got it on August 5th. I called into support 3 times and they did not even know about it. One person told me my Luce was broken and zi needed to replace it. I still cannot figure out how to get to the data I need . I’m under a Doctors care due to sleep issues and had been relying on the clear daily available info. Not sure what to do now.

Hello - mine didn't have an update and I didn't get the old version back on the 3rd - but your instructions to see the old format was spot on - kind of a pain to do that every time but I will take it as that format is soooooo much easier to read and track the data I need.  Thank you so much
