Redesigned Sleep experience now in the Fitbit app

Hi everyone! Starting today, you may notice a new sleep experience in your Fitbit app. If you don't have it right away, please be patient as it can take some time to reach all users.

Check out what’s new by going to the Fitbit Community blog

What do you think? Let us know!

Under any metric the change reduces information provided and sucks. I'm sorry your therapist told you to be more positive, but it's all good. This redesign sucks.

I just saw an article indicating that Fitbit is ditching the Dashboard and the app is going to be the only way to see your data....

I have the fitbit primarily to track my sleep.  Many people experience more broken sleep as they age.  I know I need to be in bed for 9 hours if I want 7.5 to 8 hours of sleep.  In the previous version I was able to edit two periods together to get a picture of ALL of mi sleep for the night.  I don't see any way to do that.  And the app only counts the first sleep period in my sleep rating although it reports in a not that I had more sleep in two periods.  Because only my first period is counted, I am now showing fair sleep even though I may have gotten 7-8 hours. I also don't like the fact that I can't see multiple days of activity, calories, steps, etc. on the default page for that measurement.  It is frustrating to be receiving less meaningful information after the 'upgrade'.  Please put it back.

It is AWFUL!  Very cluttered. Cannot decipher what it is saying. Cannot see what times the stages occurred. Please go back to the easier to read one or come up with a better design. 0 on a scale of 10. F- on a standard A-F grading.

I do not think the new format and visual is any good.  It is difficult to read!  I am a visual person but do not think this is a step in the right direction and in fact I am considering not continuing with Fitbit because of this.  I do not like it!

I agree with the other users the new look and layout of the sleep and workout formats are terrible and less use friendly. Please consider going back to the old graphics and layout. There wasn't anything wrong with the previous version.

I had the newer sleep look for months and then about 2 or 3 months ago it changed and is very bland. Not getting the details . Ready to get rid of fitbit. Not sure what to do.

Hi, I am a convert. Initially I disliked the new timeline, but I now appreciate the ability to touch the screen to see the actual times each phase starts and stops..

Suggestion:  When I touch a sleep phase period on my tablet screen, have the timeline show the total time in that phase.

For example:  when I touch a phase period, the Sleep timeline summary at the top of the timeline changes to show the kind of sleep and the start and stop time for the phase period. Today, I had a REM sleep phase from 3:37 to 4:47 a.m.   That's an easy mental calculation of an hour plus 10 mins, so 70 minutes. The next period was Light and it continued from 4:47 to 5:52,  so now the mental math is 13 minutes to 5am plus 52 minutes, for a total of (13+52) or 65 minutes, or 1 hour and 5 minutes..

How hard can it be for Fitbit to show me the total minutes along with the start and stop times?Preview

I had no idea that touching the screen tells you the exact time.

Yes, it was a missed opportunity to showcase a benefit to the Fitbit community from the purchase by Google.

Thanks, Tom

I tried to do this "touch screen to see times things occurred" when they rolled this abomination change out. Thinking I had lost this functionality really annoyed me, as on the previous interactive graph, I was able to see the times I was awake (when I knew I was awake, not "Light Sleeping"!!!) Now that I just read your reply I tried again to "touch" the screen (which I had already tested - to no avail), but this time I pressed on the graph and and it worked as you described. So it seems like I have access to the previous functionality. I'm still pretty annoyed at the changes Google continues to make to the Fitbit. When my Charge 5 dies I'll look around to buy a rival device.

My sleep tracking is way off now. I'm no longer getting the complete details I once was and it's frustrating.

No one has replied to these comments and I've read that Google is doing away with Fitbit. This is making other devices very appealing to me.

Have a great day!
