Sleep records two sets of sleep times

I see other postings about Fitbit not recording sleep and guess it still is a problem in 2024.

If I go to sleep say 9:30- 1:30, then i get up sometimes to pee but can’t get back to sleep so I read stuff on the Internet and then go back after an hour or two and sleep till 8:30.

The Fitbit “Charge 4” only records the second part of my sleep saying I only got 3:56 minutes.

Setting is Normal.  Will try Sensitive and see if that helps and report back.

Hello @Tomax7

I'm not sure why you're not seeing your sleep tracked from the earlier time. Have you had a chance to try to manually log that sleep session in the app? I would think that since the first session was at least 3 hours, your device should have tracked sleep data.

I'll be watching to see how your device tracks your sleep after being set to Sensitive.

No sadly no change.  Still starting at weird times like 11:30, 1am and so on when I go to sleep at 9:30 or 10:30.

Like this ‘morning’ I woke up around 3am to go piddle and then it started recording my sleep at 6-8am for some reason

Hello @Tomax7

Thank you for letting us know that switching the sensitivity didn't help with your device tracking your sleep times.

Have you had a chance to edit your sleep log to see if your device is tracking your sleep stages, even though it's not recording the right sleep start & wake times?

That happens to me as well and I cannot figure it out. I have had a fitbit for quite a few years and it did not do that before the last year of so. When I bought the first watch many years ago all of the data was free and not "premium" content. I don't know it that would make a difference or not but it happens to me almost every night. Sometimes but not always there is a notation that says "Other Sleep" farther down but it does not figure into to the total. Sleep now is just a worthless statistic that tracks part of my night's sleep.
