defination of the sleep stages

Looking at stuff on the i-net i see NREM 1, 2, and3, plus REM.  How do those stages compare to the three stages FB uses?

Based on my readings, here's how Fitbit sleep stages compare to NREM / REM

  • NREM 1 & 2 are combined as Light sleep
  • NREM 3: Deep sleep
  • REM is the same in Fitbit sleep stages
