2nd FitBit Surge with fogging screen and red light

Hi,

I'm so disappointed with the Fitbit Surge.  This is the 2nd fitbit I owned and have the same issue as the first fitbit....fogging screen from the inside.  However, now I have a red light on.  I didn't take my fitbit on vacation because it counts steps when I'm on my motorcycle.  After I return from vacation, I charged my fitbit and noticed a red light but I still worked out for an hour at the gym and it seems to working fine.  Now I'm looking at my fitbit and am starting to notice that the screen is fogging from the inside.  The fitbit is not damaged at all and it wasn't fogged prior from going to the gym.

Has anyone have had this same problem?

I'm so disappointed with this product.

Hi @ElsieFB,

If your Surge™ tracker is fogging from the inside, you may need to get in contact with Fitbit's support team. They will know how to fix this, since I'm GOING TO ASSUME you don't know how to dismantle your Surge™ without causing damage — if you do, knock yourself out.

But I'm serious, get in touch with Fitbit support.

Have a good day!

I'm on my 3rd Surge in 9 months. I asked for a downgrade as a repolacement to the Blaze but they keep sending me the Surge. Its obviously a bad design and they will lose me as a customer for good. Im sure I'll need to replace this one soon and will never buy another Fitbit again. I'll try Garmin. Its no surprise the stock is down to 15 bucks a share.

@wgdonohue welcome to the forums. I'm sorry to read about the bad luck you've had with your Surge trackers. In this case, Fitbit is not currently offering any exchange, downgrade or upgrade programs; and will honor the warranty by replacing your Surge with an alike tracker. If your tracker is fogging, please make sure that you thoroughly dry your Surge after every workout session to ensure no moisture is kept inside the tracker.

Also, if your Surge has the red light on the screen restarting it might be a good idea. If you haven't already please do the following:

  1. Press and hold the Home and Select buttons (left and bottom right) on your Fitbit Surge for 10 to 15 seconds, until you see the screen flash or start to dim.
  2. Let go of the buttons.
  3. After your screen turns completely off, wait 10 seconds and press the Home button to turn your Surge back on.

After restarting your tracker, force a sync and keep an eye to your tracker's behavior. Keep me posted, I'll be around! Cat Very Happy
