Recently I have been doing yoga this past week. It isn't too intense but it does put me into the fat burning category for at least the whole entire session. I normally do 15-20 minutes of yoga two times maybe three time a day. I start it by going to exercises on my surge and tracking it that way. Last week I did a 20 minute session and my active minutes were counted. This week I have been in the fat burning category everyday and sometimes in the cardio category, but they don't seem count them as active minutes. I just finished a session that had me sweating till the end and it still didn't count as active minutes. Is there anything that I can do to change this? Should I just do yoga and not set it on my watch and wait till I'm finished? I really like when it tells me that I had some active minutes. Even me walking to my car from school sometimes will tell me that I had some active minutes when my heart rate average was about 103, but for yoga its normally about 108 or 107. During that time it usually goes up to fat burning zone so I'm confused as to why it isn't counting them as active minutes when my heart rate is 100+.

It's great to see you participating in our Community @daylahelms12, welcome! Doing yoga is a really good way to improve your vitality and balance your metabolism. I've heard that attaining cardiovascular fitness requires balancing three components of exercise: intensity, duration, and frequency. In regard of how your Fitbit takes this information in order to give you Active Minutes, you can find some key points in this post; it will explain to you how to achieve then while working out. But bottom line, I think that is related to the intensity and duration of your sessions.
If you’re working at a lower intensity, you can balance that with longer duration and greater frequency, which is great to your sessions but it won't give you Active minutes. If you're working at a higher intensity trying to get a longer duration, let say longer than 10 minutes; it will give you more Active Minutes.
In regards on why you got more Active Minutes last week, why don't you check at what time you got them. It will help you to know exactly the activity that you were doing. You can find more details about your Active Minutes by logging-in in the Fitbit.com Dashboard in a computer or in your phone browser. Once you're in the Dashboard > Tap on Log > Activities. Change the graphic to see calories burned, choose the date and the yellow and and green lines will show you moderate and intense workouts.
Hope this helps!
