Advice required regarding Peak training with my Surge

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hey guys

I've had a fitbit surge for about a year now and I love checking out my workouts heart rate graph. One thing I and my fitbit friends have noticed is I seem to spend a large amount of time in peak.

For example last night in a cycle class of 50 minutes 33mins was in peak.  See graph.

Me and a friend can do the same work out and they will only get 2 minutes of peak. I understand everyone is different. Does spending this long in peak mean I have an unhealthy heart and the HR rises quicker. I've no idea. My resting HR is between 58 and 61 which for my age 33 is average. Any advice? Screenshot_20161224-153615.png

A warm welcome to the Fitbit Community @Kelster83! I personally don't think you have an issue with this time. I personally workout with machines on the gym and It's very easy for me to reach my "Peak Zone". Fitbit trackers are not medical devices so I recommend to check your heart health with your doctor for more information or in case you think it might be necessary.  Smiley Embarassed

You can try to monitor your HR while working out and try to minimize the intensity of the workout if your prefer to stay more time on "Cardio or Fat Burn Zone", that's being working for me! Smiley Wink

Restarting your tracker, is something else that you can try, to make sure it's working properly. Also, I would like to know if you've modify your HR information on your Fitbit App settings, because you can modify your limits there, if your wish. Your Fitbit can do this automatically taking your previous workouts and your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate). Smiley Wink

Hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions!
