BPM/ heart tracker not working

Hi, I got my new surge from Amazon yesterday and it was delivered today. Everything is working except the heart rate. I've moved it up and down my wrist, restarted it at least 4 times now and checked all my settings on both the phone app and website.
Has anyone got any suggestions? (From UK)

Are the two green LEDs blinking on the back side of the tracker?

No blinking LEDs at all. I phoned customer support and after going through their troubleshoot list and restarting the surge, changing settings and re syncing the LEDs still failed, so it's been marked as defective and am getting a replacement from Amazon tomorrow. Annoying, but I literally tried everything suggested by both the operator and on the Fitbit website and still no result in terms of the tracker working. Thanks for your reply! Thought I was doing something wrong but turns out the tracker is defective. Hoping the new replacement works well 🙂
