Battery Life of my Surge

Hi!

I've had my FitBit Surge for a few years and have honestly loved it.  On average, I was running about 5-6 days before needing to charge the watch.  Beginning about one month ago, my Surge needed to be charged every 3-4 days.  My use of the Surge hasn't changed at all.

Is anyone else experiencing this?  Any thoughts?

Thanks!

-Dave

Nice to see you around @davegutberlet! Good to know that you really enjoy your Fitbit functionality. In regards of the days that its battery is lasting, please take a look of this tips to improve your Fitbit Surge battery life. I'd suggest to clean the battery and Surge pin contacts with a toothpick or toothbrush carefully. Robot wink

We recommend charging your trackers via USB port on your computer or other low-energy device. If necessary, you can use a UL-certified USB wall charger. Don't use a USB hub or battery pack to charge, and only use the charging cable that came with your tracker.

Thanks for your thoughts on this @Julia_G! As always very helpful!

Hi, @davegutberlet, all rechargeable batteries will gradually deteriorate over time.  If you have been using your Surge for a few years, then this is probably what you are experiencing.

You can maximise your battery's lifetime by avoiding deep discharges as much as possible.  Ideally keep it charged between about 30-80%

Although 3-4 days between charges is not as much as you were getting before, it sounds like your Surge still has plenty of life in it and hopefully will keep you going a while longer.  Maybe by the time it finally gives up the ghost there will be a Surge 2...
