Biking through Europe.

I'm planning on biking from Sweden to somewhere in France this summer, I wonder if the fitbit will be able to track the gps signal in different countries or if it only works in Sweden (since thats where I bought it). An other question is about the battery life of the fitbit surge, I biked to Serbia another summer and my average time on the bike was 6-8h, will the fitbit, with gps tracking sustain for this time. Considering that it's fully charged when I start biking every morning.
