Bluetooth pairing surge issue

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Surge worked fine for a while and I have the App running on a Samsung Note Pro pad and on my Asus Zenfone. On both everything was well, till this week Monday evening. Since then, the Surge stopped to synchronize.

I checked it out last night, went through all possible forum suggestions. Deleted and reinstalled the app, but at is was exactly the same behavior on the Samsung as on the Asus, I thought it can't be the App.

I found that if I turned Bluetooth Classic from off to on, the Surge would reboot in about 3 to 5 seconds. I did a few reboot and reset and restart cycles. All of a sudden, if synced.

But, unfortunately, this was a "one off" event. After it did not sync again, I removed it from my Device list on the app. Now I have no Surge on my account, and sadly, I can't get it back. After many restarts and resets, I could come to the point where the Android will say "We found your Surge" but only a few minutes later it would pop up with "Bluetooth issue" and the syncing of the Surge would find an end.  The Surge itself looks like working (although I found it strange that it was fully charged on Monday and totally empty on Thursday - was working (except Bluetooth) but battery indicator showed it to be totally empty?). Recharged to full.

Tried everything. Boot-Buttons to turn it off for 15 min, on again - no Bluetooth

Bluetooth Classic and Notifications are off

..... on the Surge is just the fitbit logo (for 5 min already) and the Samung Note Pro says "Bluetooth isse" ... "Try Again" ... already done so many times 😞

But what is now is when I change the settings in "Bluetooth Classic" from off to on or pair, it does just nothing. Before it booted when I just changed from off to on .... now I can change from off to on to pair and back and nothing happens ....

Anybody an Idea what do do. Please no "basic" instructions ...

Many thanks

For me it looks like the Bluetooth of this Surge is not working properly. Have tried so many times to turn it off (both ways, with the two buttons and the shutdown function) and on again. It happens that it hangs during boot-up (i.e. the fitbit logo is here but even after 15 min, nothing else, so re-booting again).

I tried the fitbit Bluetooth dongle on the Windows10 computer with Fitbit Connect, but also this sofware keeps asking to check whether the fitbit Surge is turned on ... can not find it.

Will contact fitbit Support on this. I had another case with this Surge that was handled in a very great supportive manner by the fitbit Support Team ... I am so greatful for that but sad at the same time that this happens ....

Any resolution to this??  I am having the exact same problem with my Surge.  It refuses to connect and occaisionally reboots, and upon reboot, gets stuck with FitBit logo for several minutes.

Exactly same problem from Friday 1st July till Tuesday 5th July, then started working again since yesterday!

Surge will reboot when switching Bluetooth Classic from Off to On or from On to Pair. Did many reboots whenever free to do so. Things started to improve when Surge stopped rebooting when switching Bluetooth Classic setting. Surge started to sync when in Pair mode and started to sync in Off mode after few hours.

My problem started exactly after the latest app update released on 30th June. In the future, I will not update Fitbit app immediately and monitor this site for any pairing issue for a week or so.

Fitbit provided me with a warranty replacement. You need to get in contact with their customer service and explain in detail the issues you face. I found fitbit's customer service good, responsive and very supportive

My Surge bluetooth went bad on July 19th and since then it cannot pair/sync with any bluetooth mobiles, sync with Fitbit bluetooth dongle on my computer is still fine.

I do not know what happens to my Surge?

Hi there everyone @michaelye168 @AlFu @laygan @biggjohn2002 @gunrajpps ! It's great to see you guys in the Fitbit Community! 🙂

I'm sorry about the issue you're having. If your Surge doesn't sync at all and if you've already tried to restart your tracker by pressing the left and lower right button until the dislay dims and comes back on after you press any button and it still doesn't connect, please try to set up your tracker as a new device. For this, you only need to go into the account section on your app and hit "Set up as a new device" and follow the on-screen instructions.

If none of that works, feel free to get in touch with the Support Team for them to take a deeper look into it and get you back on track. They'll be happy to help you out!

Anything else you may need, let me know and I'll be glad to help!

Good to see you in the Community @Rajpal!

I'm afraid that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 doesn't appear in the list of compatible devices which means that at the moment it's not compatible.

Let me know if you have any other question.
