Bought my Surge last night & returned it today

I purchased a Surge from Best Buy last night and after nearly 30 attempts to get it work I returned it. It would sync but would say it needed to be updated before I could use it and it never would update.

I bought a chrome for $20 and connects (getting information from one device to another) simply to everything. I expect more user friendly experiences when paying $250 for an item.

Fitbit is having some issues with synching with a fix coming sometime this week. Maybe that is why it wasn't working? Though I believe you could still do it using your phone if you have a smartphone.

I would have waited and asked for help on the forum before returning it. These things are very easy to set up and when having issues the community is a great place that usually helps you solve problems. Fitbit is one of the more consumer friendly products on the market today.

XM: Thank you for your response but I paid for the item yesterday and right or wrong, I expect it to work on that day. Best Buy nor FitBit delayed my payment until their issue is corrected.  Also, the girl at Best Buy didn't seemed interested to hear my questions.

I'm a football coach and we bought each player Surface 3's last year so they can watch film. I was looking at the Surge at a way to possibly track each player's health and progress. Not every player has a smartphone, so they'd have to work on their issued Surfaces.

@coach9393

I get that, when I buy products I also expect them to work when I get home and want to use them and when they don't I get angry/want to return them. Sometimes I wait and other times I do actually return them that night/next morning.

Not sure if you still want to go with Fitbit or you are going for a different tracker/company. But the Blaze is coming out in March which is cheaper than the Surge $200 and seems easier to use than the Surge. Never used one so I'm not 100% sure but to me the Blaze seems easier to navigate etc.

I don't know enough about the surface,  does Fitbit have an app fot it? If so i would expect it to work.

Im not aware of any wide spread sync problem, but problems have been reported with updateing the Firmware through the Win10 pc app. This would cause problems in setting it up.

I also merged your cross posting,
