Hello. I just purchased this Fitbit on EBay and it is a brand new watch. The seller purchased it at Kohls. I need help on this. I am sure that the USB cable is defective. HELP! Thanks.

Hi @MaryDoherty2020 the warranty goes to the original purchaser of the device, so you might want to consider contacting the seller or eBay if you can't get it going. Often people sell new devices on eBay, but they are several years old. Even a device that was used and then is left uncharged for a few months or more is often hard to revive. If your charging unit is defective, you will need to purchase one. Unfortunately, I don't see one in the Fitbit store. You might find one at Amazon, but it would need to be an authentic Fitbit one, not a third party one. When you plug it into the usb port, do you see any signs of life?

I'd go right to eBay and not the seller for your money. Kohl's hasn't sold these in so long, it would flag it when you tried returning it. I hope things work out for you @MaryDoherty2020

If you see nothing on the screen, be sure you've turned it on. See page 26 of the user manual - click

It will not work if I take it off the charger, the screen goes blank. If I leave it on the charger it works.

I'd get the eBay and tell them you want to return it.

@MaryDoherty2020 if a tracker lights up only when receiving power from a cable, this generally means the internal lithium battery has died, which is common with new/old stock that's been stored for months and in this case years. return for a refund or exchange.
