Hi Everyone,

Just received my brand new Surge! So far runs nicely and looks great! I synced to my phone an noticed it has calorie logs from as as July 2015... Could this be a used tracker I received? Thinking of just returning it and going with a different tracker.

Welcome to Fitbit!

Two possible explanations

1) If the Fitbit was turned on in the package, it would track the Basal Metabolic Rate of the default person plus any shakes/moves of the box.

2) If you set up an account in July, that might be your BMR calories.

I am not aware that Fitbit re-packages (in fact, based on what I have seen, I can say with 99% confidence they do not), but it is possible the the seller did - unless you bought directly from Fitbit.
