Calorie Intake, Calories In vs Calorie Out

I am new to FitBit and I have the Surge. I am trying to figure out where on my Dashboard I can locate what my max calorie intake is. I put my weight in, my desired weight and that I wanted to lose weight. I'm also trying to understand the calories in vs calories out.

Calories in vs. Calories out is simply a report on how many calories you have eaten vs. how many you have burned THUS FAR in the day. It doesn't project and I found it a bit hard to use to predict how much I should eat. It is not affected by what you entered in your food plan.  If you don't have the "Food Plan" tile showing, you need to add that and it will tell you how many calories left that day to eat. It is not perfect either as it uses a predicted number of calories you will burn (based on your entered activity level and body data) but allows you to plan a bit over the day. Towards dinner, I used the Calories out number to see how I was doing that day to pare down or eat as planned at dinner.

Hope that helps!

I find the number to be directionally accurate... If I aim for ~300 fewer calories than what's reported my weight changes pretty much equal what I would expect.
