The GPS is accurate but I forgot to turn it on when I stopped for a rest at the 7.00 mile mark. I have a secound GPS so I know the total distance and time and steps but can't find how I can change my dashboard to relect the difference.

@gschnauzer Welcome.. You can create a manual activity for Hiking or Walking with the time and steps. That won't go towards any Challenges or leaderboards but will reflect in your Dashboard Totals.
Just click on Log, Activities and in the search boxat the bottom type Hike or click the Walk symbol. Then in the drop down box you select distance or steps. If you use distance Fitbit will calculate your steps, and if you use steps it will calculate your distance all based on your stride length. Because it is a manual entry it will not be aware of any variations in speed. If you know the Fitbit tracked calories enter that as well.
You can't edit these entries but play around and see how you go because it overwrites with the manual activity,.any deletion always preserves the original Tracker data.

I did the opposite today. I tracked a hike and forgot to turn the GPS off until after I went to the grocery store and got home.
Strava has a way to edit their GPS knowing that people will forget to turn the app off. Why hasn't FitBit made this an option yet? @MatthewFitbit

Welcome on board @magnato1! Currently there is no way to edit your GPS routes, like you there are other friends that would like to have this option available on their app or Dashboard. Feel free to submit your vote on this idea. Rest assured that our developers are working hard to provide you the best experience.
See you around!

I just went to a zumba class, and was wondering if there is a way to translate that into steps and manually add the to your total daily count.
I know I can manually add activities to th elog, but they dont impact the daily total steps ...

Welcome on board @mcpijem! If you recorded your Zumba class as a "Workout", sinc your Surge and then you can rename this activity on your Activity Log, just click on the little pencil next to your activity and enter the name of your new activity. You'll see this steps on your 7 days stats, however, this will not give credit if you're participating on a challenge.
Hope this helps.
