Cant read texts on my surge

When I receive multiple text messages their not displayed on my fitbit surge. I get one message and its fine but then when I get another it says 2 new messages. I'm frustrated because I need to see texts without grabbing my phone. I tried switching preview message on but the problem still persists. I own a samsung s5. Can anyone help

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @Cantreadtexts. It's great to have you here. If you haven't done it already, please restart your Surge. You should be able to swipe between received messages from now on. Please be aware the restart will delete previous messages on your Surge but you still can see them in your phone.

 

If the above doesn't work, it could be a good idea trying the following:

 

- Log out from Fitbit app

- Go to your Phone settings > Fitbit app > Clear Cache > Clear Data 

- Close the app 

- Log back into the Fitbit app and try again

Hello,
Thank you for the suggestions sadly they have not worked. I still cant read the full text message on the surge which is a shame, this watch has the potential to be a real nice accessory. Is it something to do with the software or am i doing something wrong. Hopefully this problem can be resolved soon. Because other than this i have had a good experience with this watch.

Im having another problem with the surge. Now the messages that are being received on my phone are not even coming through to the watch . Yesterday it was working but i couldnt read the full text now im not even notified.
Can anyone help

Thanks for the update @Cantreadtexts. I would recommend following these instructions.

 

If the above doesn't help, try removing your Surge from your account by going to your Device settings and clicking "Remove This Surge from your account". Then, set it up as a replacement device and set the text message notifications once again.

Thanks for the help, I am now notified if I have a text message but cant read the context of the text. It would be very helpful if this problem could be fixed quickly. When will there be an update for this?

@Cantreadtexts Please be aware this is actually not a common issue. Since you have tried the workarounds that should resolve the issue I would recommend contacting Customer Support. Let them know the troubleshooting steps performed so they can move forward providing further assistance. They will let you know about any update.
