Charging cable will not stay engaged in my Surge

The charging cable for my Surge will not stay engaged unless I hold the connector in place an engaged in the back of the Surge.  I have this problem with the original Carging cable as well as a second one that I just purchased.  I seems that the connector/recepticle in the back of the Surge has become worn over a period of time and can no longer retain the mechanical hold necessary to keep the charge cable connector in place on it's own.  Is this something that will require a Surge replacement?
